Snow Report 11-5-2012

Snowmaking Photo by Larry PalmSnowman’s Mammoth Mountain Snow Report. It’s Monday morning here in Mammoth.

Taking a look at Broadway this am, it’s no doubt Mammoth Mountain has enough snow to have at least one run open on November 8th, 2012.

What to expect on opening day? Things will be changing over to winter during this years opening day celebration. Weather wise you can expect cloudy skies with strong winds and snow moving in late in the day.

Runs and Lifts for the opener. Nothing is official yet, but we are expecting Chair 1 servicing Broadway at 8:30am and possibly Chair 3 servicing Saddle Bowl around 9 am for your opening day fun. As is the case every year the mountain will have some features and small hits placed on Broadway if that is the only run open.

Up on the Mountain we have a 10 – 18 inch base on Broadway and the surrounding runs. Snow makers have put all the focus on Broadway so it does have a better base and is more ride able then the surrounding runs.

Looking over to the Face of Three and up Top we have about 18 – 30 inches of snow. When we can officially get out on the hill next week, we will have real on the scene details for you.

While we wait for snow and cold we will be updating the playlist below several times a week. If your into weather here are two posts you will want to read, our Winter Forecast for 2012-13 or Fridays Killer Weather blog post.

The Photo Shots from last week can be found here. And for a bit more reading pleasure Chris Santella & Snowman teamed up a created a book chapter about Mammoth Mountain, read it here.

Have a great day…. Snowman out.
