Mammoth Snowman Report 4-10-2017

,

4-10-2017  7 AM – Good morning from Mammoth Mountain, we have high clouds over the area at this time.

As of 7 AM temperatures are 26 at Main Lodge with a 14 up top.

Winds up top are sustained at 36 MPH and are gusting to 46 MPH.

Looking at lift operations for today all lifts and runs are open on a base of 200-350 inches from Main lodge to the top.

Snow conditions are back to a nice winter packed powder. Over the weekend we picked up 3-5 feet of new snow from Little Eagle to the Top of Mammoth Mountain. The last foot that fell was nice and light stuff.

Today I would recommend hitting up the groomers first thing for some real fun groomed out winter packed powder.

Highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s today. Expect runs that get direct sun on the lower parts of the hill to start to get real soft and wet.

Up top you will find some snow in transition from powder crud to wind buff, some sections are a nice flat packed out winter surface.

Roads for the most part are dry and clear, watch for packed snow on the road to main lodge.

This week in Mammoth we are about 100% booked for Spring Break so make sure to get out early to keep ahead of the crowd.
