...COLDER AND UNSETTLED WEATHER THIS WEEK...

COLDER TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TODAY BEHIND A COLD FRONT THAT
MOVED THROUGH THE AREA OVERNIGHT. HIGHS TODAY WILL BE AROUND 20
DEGREES COLDER THAN MONDAY AFTERNOON.

ADDITIONAL STORMS WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION FROM THE GULF OF
ALASKA THROUGH THE WEEKEND KEEPING TEMPERATURES BELOW NORMAL.
RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE THURSDAY...FRIDAY AND SUNDAY.

A COLDER SYSTEM WILL ARRIVE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WITH SNOW LEVELS
LOWERING TO THE WESTERN NEVADA VALLEY FLOORS BY THURSDAY EVENING.
THIS SYSTEM COULD PRODUCE WINDS GUSTS OVER 45 MPH IN THE SIERRA
AND ACROSS WESTERN NEVADA LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY
AFTERNOON. SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE IN THE
SIERRA...WITH AS MUCH AS A FOOT IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. DUE TO
THE COLD NATURE OF THE STORM...AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW MAY
ACCUMULATE ON THE WESTERN NEVADA VALLEY FLOORS WITH POTENTIAL
IMPACTS TO THE THURSDAY EVENING COMMUTE.

ANYONE PLANNING TRAVEL THROUGH THE EASTERN SIERRA OR OVER SIERRA
PASSES THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY MORNING OR LATE IN THE WEEKEND SHOULD
CLOSELY MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS AND WEATHER STATEMENTS.
