For today we have a Winter Weather Advisory, expect snow before 11am, then scattered snow showers between 11am and 2pm. High’s at Main will be near 18.
It will be very windy, with a north wind 35 to 40 mph decreasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph at Main with gusts to 75 MPH or greater over the top. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Snowman will have a update from the hill later today….
The snow surface on the groomers is now a mix of soft packed powder along with some firmer groomed out man-made snow. You will also find some ice out there so watch yourself out on the hill.
Up top they have been grooming Cornice and it is carving great first thing in the morning. Just beware of the first 100 feet it’s solid ice. Off of Cornice you’re going to need a good edge as there is some nice firm wind buff mixed in with some ice and suck pack.
The Unbound Park is now open after a massive snowmaking run. It’s still low tide in the park but they have some cool features set up along with 1 big jump.
Bus Service the Red Line and the Blue Lines are now open for the winter season here in Mammoth Lakes.
