Mammoth Snowman Update 12-10-2016

kidsfreeGood Sunday morning, yesterdays storm has left the area and we have pt cloudy skies. At this time I can hear ski patrol bombing for avalanche control.

New snowfall amounts at Main, we picked up 7-10 inches and it was mixed with rain and sleet. From Mc Coy Station up 20-30 inches of new base snow fell.

It got real warm at the end of the storm last night and snow levels went back up and then we got a hard freeze.

So parts of the hill today at the lower elevation could be boiler plate so beware. Parking areas are black ice as are the roads in town so chain up and slow down this morning.

Weather wise today and Monday expect highs in the 30s with winds 25-30 gusting to 40+ over higher elevations both days. By Tuesday the next warm storm rolls in with 8000 foot snow levels expected at this time. More perfect base build snow. Late in the week it looks like we will get a nice cold system in here.

For today expect chair 12 to open with 5 new trails. Canyon Lodge is now set to open this Wednesday.

Other Lifts open at this time: Chairs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11 along with G1 and G2. Lift hours this week are 8:30 AM to 4 PM. (weather permitting)

Snow Report & Conditions

Sunday Morning – I have no idea what to expect today, that was one warm storm not really a powder Producer. My advice is to ski and snowboard the top today the lower grooms will be boiler plater near the bottom.  Update to come…
