Mammoth Snowman Report

kidsfree12-12-2016 – 8AM – Good morning, looks like a great day to get out on Mammoth Mountain.

Over the weekend we picked up 20-30 inches of new snow from MC Coy up to the top.  Down at Main we had rain and then it turned to snow and we picked up 7-10 inches of new base snow.

Weather wise today expect pt cloudy skies with highs in the 30s with a Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

On Tuesday we are expecting cloudy skies with a chance for a few inches of snow. Snow levels will be just above the village. SW winds will be blowing up to 55+ MPH over the higher elevations.

Snow Conditions Report and News from The Hill

Monday Morning – We had some great snow out on the hill on Sunday. Not really a powder day but lot’s of fresh turns that had you sinking into the snow a few inches. Fun stuff and perfect storm to add to our base. Right now the top looks more like February then December so come on up and rip it up.

Taking a look at the Face of Three it’s all filled in and you can can ski or ride any line you like. Over at the Face of Five things are looking way more filled in but still some rocks and stumps to watch out for.

All of the groomers from 4 over to 12 should be in great shape today with machine groomed packed powder on the runs.

As far as the base for goes, at Canyon Lodge we have 6-12 inches, up at Main Lodge there is a base of 12-24 inches, with a base of 70-85 inches over the upper mountain. At this time the top is in mid winter conditions.

As far as we know Canyon is still set to open this Wednesday morning, we will have to confirm what the deal is with Eagle Lodge and report back to you later today.

Lifts open at this time: Chairs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12 along with G1 and G2. Lift hours this week are 8:30 AM to 4 PM. (weather permitting) Chairs 8, 16 and 17 should be running starting on Wednesday.
