Mammoth Snowman Report

12-20-2016 – 8AM – Good morning from Mammoth Mountain, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Currently it’s 21 at Main Lodge, up top it’s 29 with SW winds gusting 16 MPH.

This week we can expect highs in the 30s with light winds out of the south west at times.

Night time lows will be in the 20’s, perfect for snowmaking over at Little Eagle.  Winds will be light the next few day 10-20 MPH out of the SW. On Thursday and Friday winds will be picking up to moderate to strong for some nice wind blown snow out on the hill.

Next chance of snow is late Friday into Christmas Eve. At this time the outlook calls for 18-24+ inches on Mammoth Mountain with a good 6-12+ inches down in town.

The Snowman Crew will be out on the hill getting you some fresh images today and Wednesday. We will post a new gallery on Wednesday late in the day.

Snow Conditions Report and News from The Hill

12-19-2016 – Snow Report Update with 2-5+ feet of new base snow the ski area is in mid-winter conditions. 100% of the hill is now open, be aware the chair 9 and 25 areas could use some more snow in spots so watch your line.

The base is a bit low down at Eagle but the rest of the hill is covered as follows: Canyon Lodge 2 feet, Lincoln 3-5 Feet, 4-5 feet at Main Lodge and up top 10-11 feet.

Snow condition: The groomers area great machine groomed packed power with just about all runs getting groomed nightly during the holiday season. Your best bet for fresh  groomed is to get in line just before the lifts open.

Off the groomers you will find some nice skier & snowboarder packed out powder snow. Some runs up top are getting a more of a wind buff type of surface now.
