Mammoth Snowman Report

,

12-29-2016 – 6:20 AM – Good morning from Mammoth Mountain.

All lifts and runs are open on a base of 24 to 150 inches from Little Eagle to the Top.

Snow Conditions are a fun packed out powder on the groomers. Get out at first chair for the best of the groomed out snow.

Up top the snow surface has been packed out to a packed powder mixed in with some real fun wind buff. There are also some bumps forming in the high traffic areas.

If you like a steep groomed run they are grooming Cornice Bowl and Scotties this week. Check out the images below for a visual idea of what it’s like out on the hill at this time.

As for the weather forecast expect highs Thursday in the mid 30s up top today with a high of 41 at Main Lodge. Winds will be lighter out of the west to 10 MPH, not enough wind speed for a wind buff alert.

By Friday things cool off and cloud up with windy conditions developing. There will also be a chance of off and on snow showers starting Friday and lasting into Tuesday. At this time we are just looking for a chance of and inch or two by late Saturday.

If your thinking of coming to Mammoth the next few days lodging is sold out thru Saturday Night.

Happy New Snow Year to everyone, enjoy the snow if your on the hill this week. Snowman should be back out there starting next week, I got injured and have not been cleared to get back on the hill yet.
