Mammoth Snowman Report

25% off Black Tie Ski Rental DiscountGood evening, we had a fun riders of the storm morning that went on after lunch.

The snow did start to get wet and heavy and now we have a rain snow mix at Canyon Lodge.

Over the next 36 hours look for rain below 9000 feet with heavy snow above that level. Area above the snow line could see 4-8 feet by the time this things exits the area.

Below that level it’s going to be a wet mess, I really have no idea how the skiing or snowboarding will pan out under excessive rain Sunday AM.

The best advice I can give you is skip Sunday and get ready for some wet snow falling on Monday.

As we move thru next week would could see 3-5 feet of the fresh stuff to cover up the rain effected snow. Should be a great MLK weekend with full on winter conditions.

Detailed 5-day Snowfall Forecast for 9000 feet @ Main Lodge:

Sat 1/7 — Snow increases during the day and possibly becomes heavy Saturday night before changing to rain by Sunday AM.  Accumulations 16 – 20” by Sunday AM.

Sun 1/8 — Heavy rain mixed with snow at times expected during the day and into Sunday evening, heaviest rain expected in the AM.   Rain changes back to heavy snow Sunday night and into Monday.   Accumulations 12 – 20” by Monday AM; 5 – 6 feet up top including Saturday.

Mon 1/9 — Snow continues during the day and tapers off Monday night.  Accumulations 12 – 15” by Tuesday AM.

Tue 1/10 — Snowfall increases again during the afternoon and becomes heavy overnight
