Mammoth Mountain is 100% open on the second deepest January base in our history.
The snow out on the hill is now all packed out from the 20,000 skiers and snow boarders that hit the hill over the weekend.
Snowman will be heading out this am to get a bit of video and some fresh images. There will be a fresh snow report posted by 5 PM today, so check back.
For this week we expect highs in the 30s the next 3 days. Winds will be light today out of the NE and shift SW on Tuesday with gusts to 35MPH up top.
Winds increase a bit on Wednesday, could be some fun wind buff on Wednesday.
Talking with the Mammoth Weather Guy this morning, clouds will increase with a chance of snow showers late in the day on Wednesday.
This next incoming storm is looking weaker this morning, now snow totals look to be about a foot Wednesday night into Thursday. With an additional foot by Saturday morning up at Main Lodge.
Things look to be unsettled thru the weekend and into early next week.
Over this time period it appears we are in line to pick up an additional 4 – 6 feet on Mammoth Mountain. Confidence level in this series is a 3 at this point.
If you own or rent in Mammoth, you need to shovel out and back NOW. Do not wait to get it done or you might not be very happy in a week.
All right now it’s time to go hit the hill so I can report back to you all by 5PM. Have a great MLK day!
