Mammoth Snowman Report

25% off Black Tie Ski Rental Discount1-17-2017 – 7AM – Good Morning, it’s a clear Tuesday morning here on Mammoth Mountain.

Today expect Mammoth  to be 100% open on the second deepest January base in our history.

The snow out on the hill is now all packed out from the 20,000 skiers and snow boarders that hit the hill over the weekend.

There are a ton of area’s that are now bumped out or just skied out, we need some wind to get the snow moving. Best best is to hit of the groomed out runs today.

Up top Cornice and Scotties will be firm to start and then soften up as the day goes on.

For this week we expect highs in the 30s the next 2 days. Winds will be light today out of SW with gusts to 35MPH up top today. Winds increase a bit on Wednesday, could be some fun wind buff on Wednesday.

Talking with the Mammoth Weather Guy this morning, clouds will increase with a chance of snow showers late in the day on Wednesday.

This next incoming storm is looking like we could see 1-2 feet by late in the day on Thursday. Things are setting up for another possible riders of the storm day on Thursday.

Things look to be unsettled thru the weekend and into early next week. Over this time period it appears we are in line to pick up an additional 4 – 7+ feet on Mammoth Mountain. Confidence level in this series is a 3 at this point.

If your more of a fair weather winter lover after this series of storms it appears we go dry for a week or longer.

Snowman out…
