Mammoth Snowman Report

25% off Black Tie Ski Rental Discount1-24-2017 – 7:00AM – Good morning from Mammoth, we have almost total clear blue skies with just a few high clouds mixed in.

After 20 feet in 23 days Mammoth is recovering and digging out. Snowman will be today getting images of the massive base of snow we now have.

Just in my yard we have snow pile’s over 25 feet high now, around town the snow is as deep as you will ever see it. They will get higher next month when this pattern repeats itself again. O boy get ready for that.

So the good news to report this am is we have now got around 240 inches at Main during January. That amount of snow breaks the old record that was around 209 inches for the month.

We are working on some special t shirts and hoodies for this recorded breaking month. I will have a link to that swag on Wednesday.

Snow conditions: Out on the hill you will find some fine bottomless deep blower powder today. Going to be a while to get things running but we are hearing they want to get the entire hill open today.

On the groomers this am you will find some perfect soft groomed out backed powder. The last snow that hit was so light and dry it grooms out real soft.

Weather wise for today there is a 30% chance of a PM snow shower’s with Pt cloudy skies this am. Highs will be in the 20’s into the 30’s. Expect NE winds 10 – 20 MPH.

Then on Wednesday we get sun shine with highs in the 20s and more NE winds 10-20 MPH.

Thursday there is now a 30% chance of getting a dusting to several inches of snow.

Beyond that we get clear blue skies for the weekend with highs in the 30s. It does look like Friday will have enough wind to get the wind buff machine going. Just an outlook at this point.

Now is the time to make plans to come to Mammoth and see and play in all this snow. Next weekend looks clear so you blue bird lovers get on up here.

Be ready for a big crowd on Saturday, if that is not your thing then hit up June Mountain 20 minuets north of Mammoth.

Ok time to get dressed and get out on the hill. I will have a fresh photo snow report and a video report from the hill later today.

Most likely that content will be posted after 5 pm, so check back at dinner time.

Ski ya later… Snowman out!
