Mammoth Snowman Report – 1-27-2017

25% off Black Tie Ski Rental Discount1-27-2017 – 6 AM – Good morning from Mammoth, we have clear blue skies this morning. Late yesterday we did pick up a dusting of new snow.

Currently we have a temperature at Main of 10 with a 4 up top.

Highs today will be in the 30’s with a NE wind 25-45 MPH over the upper elevations. Winds back down on Saturday and we remain in the 30’s. By Sunday we will see low 40s at Main Lodge.

The sun is still low in the sky so it might warm up, but the snow will stay in a nice winter pack, expect at the bottom of Eagle Lodge.

Roads in town are still being cleaned up, at this time we have R1 conditions.

A word to my readers, with all this snow in town it’s now impossible to make a turn or get out of a driveway without having to inch out blind into the road. SLOW DOWN and do not hug the right side of the road driving in town.

Snow conditions: Packed Powder on the Groomers and packed powder and some snow still in transition to wind buff over the top.

Today’s NE winds are not ideal for wind buff, but they will help the process of refreshing the snow surface.

On the groomers this am you will find some perfect soft groomed out packed powder. The last snow that hit was so light and dry it grooms out real soft.

Now is the time to make plans to come to Mammoth and see and play in all this snow. Make sure to scroll down this page for some local coupons and for fresh images from Tuesday.

Storm Riders be ready late Wednesday into Thursday we could see 1-2 feet of fresh snow out on the hill.

Ski ya later… Snowman out!
