Mammoth Snowman Report – 3-11-2017

3-11-2017 – 6AM – Good morning from Mammoth Mountain, we will have mostly clear skies today.

Expect the entire hill to be open today and right thru the upcoming weekend.

We expect clear skies into Monday. Winds should be light out of the SW 5-15 MPH. Highs will be in the uppers 40s to low 50s with lows in the 20s.

Current conditions out on the hill are a mix of winter and now also some spring snow down low.

Winter is in full force up top with Cornice and Scotties being groomed. The rest of the top is in transition from the last storm. I found some fun stuff in the noids, the drop outs and in Dave’s.

The Face’s of 3 and 5 are a mix of groomed packed powder and wind buff of the groomed. Some of that wind buff is very firm so beware.

The groomers held up great over at Main yesterday, if your looking for some fresh cord start out at chair 2. St Anton, Saddle Bowl, Gremlins Gulch and Terry’s are in great shape with soft groomed out packed powder.

Spring is now in force in the direct sun over on chairs 9, 15 and 25. We need a few day of freeze thaw and then we might see some early corn in those areas. I would not advise 9 or 25 until after 9:30 am since there will be ice and firm pack. Once it softens it’s a ton of fun.

The mountain is now 100% open with a base of 200 – 350+ inches. All lifts and runs are open, we see no weather holds coming anytime soon.  Time to get up here and have fun in the sun and snow.

We now have record breaking 20 feet in 23 days T Shirts and Mugs – You can get them at this link from our online partner Sun Frog
