Mammoth Snowman Report – 3-13-2017

3-13-2017 – 6AM – Good morning from Mammoth Mountain, we will have mostly clear skies today.

Expect the entire hill to be open today and right thru the week and into the upcoming weekend.

Winds should be light out of the SW 5-15 MPH. Highs will be in 50s with lows in the 30s.

Current conditions out on the hill are a mix of winter on the mid and upper mountain with spring conditions down low.

Winter is in full force up top with Cornice and Scotties being groomed. The rest of the top is a fun packed out snow.

The Face’s of 3 and 5 are a mix of groomed packed powder and wind buff off the groomed.

The groomers held up great over at Main yesterday, if your looking for some fresh cord start out at chair 2. St Anton, Saddle Bowl, Gremlins Gulch and Terry’s are in great shape with soft groomed out packed powder.

Spring is now in force in the direct sun over on chairs 9, 15 and 25. We need a few day of freeze thaw and then we might see some early corn in those areas. I would not advise 9 or 25 until after 10 am since there will be ice and firm pack. Once it softens it’s a ton of fun.

The mountain is now 100% open with a base of 200 – 350+ inches. All lifts and runs are open, we see no weather holds coming anytime soon.  Time to get up here and have fun in the sun and snow.

Snowman has got the Mammoth Crud so it will be a few days before I can get back out and report on conditions.  Have a great week… Snowman out
