Mammoth Snowman Report – 3-29-2017

,

3-29-2017 – 9AM – Good morning from Mammoth Mountain, we have clear skies over the hill today.

Snow Conditions are now a mix of spring and winter conditions across the hill.

The upper 2/3’s of the hill are a winter pack with just the lower sections with spring conditions.

Today should be a bit warmer then Tuesday with winds picking up late in the day. Thursday looks like a blow out with a high wind watch so the snow down low on lifts that will run will be firm.

If you’re coming up for the weekend with highs in the 40s we expect the snow will start to spring up over a lot of the hill. Make sure to wax up as the winter to spring conversion can be a bit thick and slow you down.

Up top this weekend you should find some nice buffed out winter snow. With the warming temps there should be some nice carvable snow. Expect Cornice and Scotties to be groomed for some fast corduroy fun out there.

By early next week we should start to see some good corn snow develop over on Chair’s 9 and 25.

FYI: If you do not have a season pass now is the time to get one. You can start using it this Saturday and it will be good all the way thru next ski season. Snowman calls that a great deal. Here is the link to get your season pass you can use this weekend.

Snowman is recovering from a bad bout of bronchitis and should be back out for a few turns and a video update by early next week.
