Weather conditions for today we expect highs in the 30’s with moderate winds into the afternoon hours out of the north.
Over the next few days we will see a warming trend with highs into the mid 50s on Mammoth Mountain by Saturday.
Winds will back off over the next couple days and turn from N to SW. That will allow the snow to revert back to full on spring conditions by Friday into the weekend. Long range calls for spring weather with a chance of PM thunder storms starting by around Sunday.
Snow conditions at this time are a mix of packed powder, dust on crust and some freshies for those willing to search them out. By Friday we will be back to spring conditions and the corn snow should start to show up by the weekend.
The upcoming weekend will offer up the perfect chance to get in some great spring skiing and snowboarding without the cold and cloudy conditions we had the last two weekends.
We have new hours of operation, lifts will run from 7:30 AM to 3 PM now. If you like the firm carvable groomers get out at 7:30 AM.
For the softer snow follow the sun by starting out on the runs off of chair 2. Then work over to the chair 1 area and then up to the face of 3 and then the Cornice Bowl.
Lifts running this week (weather permitting) will be chairs 1, 2, 3, 6, 11, 23 and G1 and G2. More lifts will run over the weekend like 5, 10, 12, 13, and 14.
There is still a base of 140-290+ inches out on the hill. At this time we have heard the ski area plans to stay open thru July and possibly beyond.
