Mammoth Snowman Report 5-24-2017

5-24-2017 – Hello from Mammoth Mountain!

Weather conditions for this week and right into the Memorial Day weekend should see highs in the 50s with lows in the 30s to low 40s at night.

Expect mostly clear skies with SW winds at times gusting 15-30 MPH.

Snow conditions are now full on spring conditions and should stay that way for the next 6-10 days before we get a bit of a cool down.

We have new hours of operation, lifts will run from 7:30 AM to 3 PM now. If you like the firm carvable groomers get out at 7:30 AM.

For the softer snow follow the sun by starting out on the runs off of chair 2. Then work over to the chair 1 area and then up to the face of 3 and then the Cornice Bowl. Things start to get soft on Stump right at 8 am at this point.

Lifts running this week (weather permitting) will be chairs 1, 2, 3, 6, 11, 23 and G1 and G2. More lifts will run over the holiday weekend like 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14. Chair 17 will also run so you can park at Canyon Lodge and then return at the end of the day.

There is still a base of 140-300+ inches out on the hill. That base will allow the Mountain to remain open into August at this point. You should be able to ski down to Main Lodge into mid July with Stump Alley possibly open into the July 4th weekend.

Once the snow melts out of Main they will offer skiing and snowboarding from Mc Coy Station to the top of Mammoth. When your done for the day you will download on G1.

We hope to see you here for the Memorial Day weekend celebrations. Ski ya later, Snowman out.
