Winter Storm Warning with 2-3 Feet of New Snow on the Way!

Winter Storm Warning from 6 PM on Friday Night until Noon on Sunday, December 8th.

12/5/2019 – 11:36 AM – Get Ready for more snowfall over Mammoth Mountain and in the town of Mammoth Lakes. Snow should move in after nightfall on Friday and become moderate to heavy at times from town to the top of Mammoth Mountain.

Snowfall amounts look to be in the 1-3 foot range with about 12-18 inches down at Little Eagle Lodge, 2 feet a Main and up to 3 feet over the Powder Fields of Mammoth Mountain.

If your traveling to Mammoth Lakes, roads should be good until sometime after 6 PM – 12 PM when the snow starts to fall.

Expect chains to be required on Saturday and Sunday getting to any of the lodges at the ski area.

Snow levels should come down about 1/2 down the Sherwin grade on 395 by Sunday so be prepared for slow travel in and out of Mammoth.

If you’re going to be out skiing and snowboarding this weekend expect very windy conditions on Saturday with many lifts being on wind and weather hold.

Sunday looks to be the prime day this weekend with snow showers and much lighter winds with lots of fresh powder to be harvested. (It’s still low tide, be careful out there everyone.)

Beyond the weekend it looks like some clear weather with just some showers around next Wednesday.  Blue Bird lovers will be a happy group of people to start the week off.

Snowman out… PS: Please consider becoming a Website Subscriber at this link or Tip’s for the gas tank is always appreciated. Thanks so much and Happy Winter!
