9-16-21 @ 7:29 AM Good morning and thanks for stopping by MammothSnowman.com.
The good news today is the Forest is 100% again starting today. The only exception is several campgrounds are now closed for the season.
Time to consider coming back up for some hiking and mountain biking, and of course the Fall Color show starting in a couple of weeks.
Checking on conditions in the area this morning, the window cast is showing skies are filled with thick haze from dissipated smoke. AQI levels are in the moderate to high levels at this time.
Up at the top of Mammoth Mountain, there is a temperature of 45 with a WSW wind to 12 MPH. Down at Main Lodge, the temperature is 48. In Mammoth Lakes, the temperature this morning is 54 with Bishop also at 54 degrees.
The Weather Forecast: For Mammoth Lakes expect hazy skies with highs in the mid-70s with lows in the 40s. Down in Bishop highs will be in the low 90s.
All areas will have a big cool down starting Friday as a trough of low pressure brings some Fall weather to the area. Along with the cool down, you can expect some moderate to strong winds with just a slight chance of rain showers.
The air quality forecast for the next 48 hours is calling for some high AQI levels at times. The next chance for all the haze to blow out of the area looks to be sometime later on Sunday or Monday.

Road Conditions: All roads are clear and open with forest service roads reopening this morning. Yes, you can drive down to Reds Meadows as the shuttle service is closed for the season.
