Mammoth Mountain Snow Report from the Snowman

Good Morning, this is Snowman with your local’s Snow Report for Mammoth Mountain on Monday, March 7th, 2022.

The mountain picked up 4-8 inches of snow from the last system that moved out on Saturday. Nothing like a nice refresh for the snow pack and some freshies for your delight.

Today will be mostly clear with a strong NE flow in the area. Expect a high of 29 at the Main Lodge at 8900 feet.

The NE wind flow will be howling up top with gusts in the 60-80 MPH range, look for upper mountain lifts to be on wind hold until winds back off later today.

Lower mountain winds will be in the 15-30 MPH range with highs around Canyon Lodge around 34

The fresh snow that fell early in the weekend will make for some great skiing and riding this week.

The groomers are back to a mid winter packed powder snow with miles and miles of winter corduroy pack ready to go each morning.

On the mid and upper mountain off the groomers, the NE winds should buff out the snow surface today. Most likely the top will be on wind hold with 3 and 5 on the brink of wind hold mid day today.

If you plan on being out on Tuesday and Wednesday expect sunny skies with temperatures up about 7-10 degrees over today along with much lighter N winds shifting to the west on Wednesday.

Looks like there could be some more snowfall on Wednesday night into Thursday morning with 1-3 inches of snow possible along with cooler conditions and gusty winds again.

If you’re reading this my advice is to get on up here for some winter fun before we move into the spring season.

Snowman will be back out on the hill on Tuesday getting you some fresh photos and video clips that will get posted late Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

Base Depth: As of today, the Mammoth Snow Study site is showing 68 inches at the 9000-foot level. With 88 inches at Mc Coy Station and 131 inches at the top of the hill.

Unbound Parks: The Unbound Parks are 100% built out right now. Each one has a ton of features and hits for your enjoyment.

Ikon Pass: March 10th is the first day you can re-up your pass for next season. Here is the Snowman link to the Ikon Pass Pricing and Purchase Page. It’s live now to view the pricing and details. On the 10th the buy link will go link.
