Recreational Weather Forecast for Mammoth Mountain and the Eastern Sierra

3-20-2021 @ 9 AM Weather Forecast Overview: Welcome to the Spring weather season this is the time of year that we start out by going back and forth from winter to spring to winter and to spring again.

It’s a fun ride and looking at the data today you can expect a taste of spring this week and then some more freshies to end the month of March and to start April.

As of today, the Saturday weather system is on the way out and the Eastern Sierra is under an N to NE flow.

During the time that the low slowly moves off to the east, it will be replaced by a strong ridge of high pressure. That ridge will bring recorded breaking highs to Mammoth Mountain and all of the Eastern Sierra Wednesday into at least Friday.

It appears that highs at Main Lodge could reach the 60-degree mark by next Friday. Mammoth Lakes makes highs this week could be into the low to mid-60s. Bishop and Mill Pond will make it into the upper 70s and possibly an 80 by Friday?

The ridging will influence the weather into next weekend however there will be some cooling by next Saturday before the weather turns back to a more wintery pattern with much cooler days and snow at times to finish March and start the month of April.

Snowman…

If you’re going to be out on the hill this week, expect a warming trend with mostly clear skies, highs Monday and Tuesday into the upper 40s to low 50s at Main Lodge. With temperatures on Wednesday into the uppers 50s and then near 60s by Friday.
