Hello this is the Snowman with your local’s snow report for Mammoth Mountain on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 @ 7:30 AM

The snow and temperatures have now reverted back to wintertime conditions. It feels more like January today than April.

Yesterday’s storm left a good 4-8 inches of fresh snow out on the hill from Canyon Lodge up top higher elevation powder fields.

Conditions off the top should be a mix of freshies, dust on crust along with some possible hard pack sections. Winds have calmed so the top should open by mid-morning at the latest.

The groomers should be prime mid-winter packed powder. The cat crew was out all night buffing out miles of runs.

Expect these winter conditions to be with us into at least Thursday.

The base out on Mammoth Mountain at the 9000-foot level is now at 40 inches, with yesterday’s system leaving an inch of water content. Up top, the reported base is at 75 inches.

As of now, the plan is to stay open for skiing and snowboarding thru Memorial Day weekend. There is a chance you will be skiing out of Mc Coy station at that point in time.

FYI: April 22nd is the last day to get you’re renewed or brand new Ikon Season Pass for next season.
