Hello, this is the Snowman with your local’s snow report for Mammoth Mountain on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 What a week for snowfall with a one-foot storm Monday and then a 15-inch dump that rolled thru overnight on Thursday night. Guess everyone got the word as a horde of powder hounds hit the hill and feasted on the fresh snow on Friday.

For today you will find some mid-winter packed powder groomers to be great this morning. With the NE flow and the pt cloudy skies, the snow could possibly stay in winter form all day today.

If you’re looking for freshies today I heard Dave’s had not opened and that 14 still had lots some leftovers to be had.

Up top and on the mid-mountain runs that are not groomed you will find powder crud to some degree. As that snow gets packed out from the Saturday crowd it should ski and ride really well.

Expect the winter conditions up top to last through at least Sunday. By Monday highs do come up into the mid-40s up top, but when you add in the SW winds at 15-30 MPH it will be tough for the snow to convert fully over to spring. Yep, We will See…

The base at Main Lodge is now at 48 inches with 86 inches being reported up top.  Lifts running this weekend are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 23, and the Upper and Lower Gondolas. Chair 17 is open for access from the Canyon Lodge parking area. (Weather Permitting). Lift hours are still from 8:30 AM to 4 PM.

As of now, the plan Mammoth has is to stay open for skiing and snowboarding thru Memorial Day weekend. There is a chance you will be skiing and riding out of Mc Coy Station later in the month of May.
