Mammoth Mountain Weather Forecast

November 19th, 2024 @ 10:30 AM – 1-3 Day Short-Term Forecast for Wednesday into Friday: Expect pt cloudy skies at times into early Friday, then increasing clouds with a 30% chance of rain/snow on Friday afternoon with the snow level around 9000+ feet.

Midday temperatures around the Main Lodge will be in the mid-40s today into Friday. Wind speeds today will be in the 5-15 MPH range around the Main Lodge, with stronger gusts of 25-35 over the upper elevations. Wind speeds will be much higher by Wednesday afternoon, with gusts to 50+ MPH over the higher elevations.

Mammoth Mountain Weather Discussion

Days 1-7 Forecast Discussion: A bomb cyclone off the southern Oregon Coast and its associated AR bands will affect the weather along the West Coast for the next week.

Snow is expected to move into the Mammoth Mountain area by Friday night into Saturday afternoon, with periods of moderate to heavy snowfall and snow levels around the 8,000-foot mark by late Friday evening.

Snow showers are expected on Saturday night, and the subsequent deep band of moisture is expected later on Sunday. Snow levels Saturday night will be 7000-7500 feet and then down to 6000-6500 feet by later in the day on Sunday.

A weaker third wave could come through late Monday into early Tuesday morning with several additional inches of snowfall.
