Mammoth Mountain Weather Forecast & Discusion

February 1st, 2025 @ 11 AM …HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING…

A series of Pacific storm systems will move through the area over the next 7 days. This first system hits areas to our north, with Mammoth Mountain just a bit south of the AR band this weekend. Snow levels will be in the 8500-9200 range into Sunday Morning.

The following system, starting Monday night, will be a great snow producer for Mammoth Mountain, with 2-3+ feet of snow possible with snow levels down to Toms Place. If next week’s AR band sinks a bit more south, the snowfall totals could go way up.

There is a third system in the 7 day forecast for Friday with what could be an addional foot or more of snowfall. Below you can see the three waves moves through with waves 2 and 3 being the stronger ones with lower snow levels.

The ECMWF shows 3 waves of snow moving through the area over the next 7 days.

Next week, a stronger system with colder air moves in on Monday night with moderate to heavy snowfall at times into early Wednesday. The will be a bit of a break later on Wednesday into Thursday with pt cloudy skies. System 3 moves at some point on Thursday lasting into Friday.

If you’re planning a trip up next week, expect moderate to heavy snowfall Tuesday into late Wednesday.

Next Weekend looks to be a break in the action. The Longer Range Fanasty Outlook the week of the 10th has a back door cold front hiting with colder air and drier lighter snow adding up to inches instead of feet. The skiing and riding should be fantastic that week.

Have a nice day! Forever Hopefull for a series of Powder Storms, Steve Taylor – the Mammoth Snowman
