Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at Noon – Good afternoon. The winds have shifted once again, and the high concentration of dispersed smoke has moved out of the area for now.
Checking in on the current conditions as of this post, up top, the temperature is 52 degrees with an East wind at 3 MPH, gusting to 8 MPH. Down at Main Lodge, there is a S wind of 3 MPH gusting to 9 MPH, and the temperature is 64 degrees.

Quick WX Summary: Over the next 24 hours, expect ridging to remain in place, accompanied by warm temperatures and dry conditions. The ridging remains until early Thursday when a cut-off low and the remnants of Tropical Storm Mario start to affect California and the Eastern Sierra. There will be a 40% to 50% chance of rain on Thursday and Friday afternoons. You can also expect the air to feel a bit muggy on those days.
Through next Friday, Temperatures at the Main Lodge and the Mammoth Lakes Basin are expected to be in the upper 60s to 70 degrees today and Wednesday, with mid-60s on Thursday and mid-to-upper 50s on Friday. Nighttime lows will be in the upper 40s.
Winds will be from the Southwest at 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20-25 mph during the afternoon and evening hours.
Mammoth Lakes will be in the mid-70s through Wednesday, then near 70 on Thursday, and in the low 60s for Friday, with lows in the upper 40s. For Bishop, temperatures are expected to be in the low 90s today and Wednesday, then in the low to mid-80s on Thursday and Friday, with lows in the mid-to-upper 50s.
