Friday, September 19, 2025 @ 11 AM – It’s a gorgeous Fall day in the Eastern Sierra with cloudy skies and light rainfall at times in many locations.

Up top, the temperature is 39 degrees with a SSW wind at 19 MPH, gusting to 27 MPH. Down at Main Lodge, there is a W wind of 2 MPH, gusting to 9 MPH, and the temperature is 56 degrees. 

Light rain has been falling intermittently since around 9 PM last night. Rainfall amounts over the last 24 hours on Mammoth Mountain have ranged from .25 to .50. 

Quick WX Summary: The remnants of Tropical Storm Mario are in the area today, with cloudy skies and rain showers expected at times into tonight. The high country has a 70% chance of light rainfall, while the lower elevations have a 60% chance.

Rainfall amounts in the high terrain could be in the .25 to .50 range, with high totals possible under any T Storms that form. Lower elevations, unless they are under a thunderstorm, will have very light amounts of rain. 

The weekend looks mostly sunny, with a 20% chance of thunderstorms over the higher elevations. Temperatures will be perfect for getting outside for some playtime.

Temperatures at the Main Lodge and the Mammoth Lakes Basin are expected to be in the low 50s on Friday and in the 60s on Saturday & Sunday afternoons. Nighttime lows will be in the mid-40s.

Winds will be from the SW at 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15-20 mph during the afternoon and evening hours. 

Mammoth Lakes will be in the low 60s on Friday and mid-60s on Saturday, with lows in the low to mid-40s. For Bishop, the upper 70s are expected today, with low 80s forecasted over the weekend. Temperatures will drop to the lower 50s at night.

With the smoke gone, now is the time to plan a Fall Adventure in the Eastern Sierra.
