Mission Statement

At MammothSnowman.com, our mission is to connect you year-round to what is really happening on Mammoth Mountain.

The content provided gives you first-hand updates on current conditions from Snowman and a trusted team of local skiers and riders. No hype, no fluff, just honest reporting from people who are on the mountain.

Our regional weather coverage is backed by experienced meteorologists and long-time observers who understand how Mammoth’s unique terrain affects snowfall, wind, and changing conditions.

Snowman has lived in Mammoth and reported on the local weather since 1990, first posting updates during the early online BBS era. He was mentored by longtime local forecaster Howard “The Dweeb” Sheckter of Mammoth Weather.

Ted (CCM) joined the team 20 years ago and provides his Powder Forecasts every Tuesday and Friday during the winter season. He is a full-time meteorologist who donates his time to help keep the community informed.

From skiing and snowboarding in the winter to mountain biking, hiking, and high-country adventures in the summer, the website keeps you informed on what’s good, what’s changing, and when it may be better to wait things out.

In addition to written reports, you will find frequent photo albums and video clips from the mountain so you can see conditions for yourself. Seeing it has always been just as important as reading about it.

Through MammothSnowman.com, you will find in-depth, year-round coverage that includes snow and weather reports, high-resolution photography, video stories, live webcams, and local mountain intel to help you plan your next trip with confidence.

A private Facebook community is also available and features authentic conversations among people who love Mammoth. It is a place to share stories, ask questions, stay informed, and stay connected to the lifestyle that brings us all here.

Whether you are chasing winter storms, riding summer single track, or simply staying connected to the mountain you love, MammothSnowman.com is your year-round hub for real information, real people, and real Mammoth.
