11-8-2021 @ 7:36 AM – Good Monday morning to you, and thanks for stopping by Mammoth Snowman. We have clear skies to start the week off this morning.

If you’re coming up to the area you will find winter starts just around 9000 feet. Below that elevation, you will find it’s still Fall with lots of opportunities for non-winter activities.

As of now, I expect this to be the case for at least a couple of more weeks if not thru the month of November.

For winter sports Mammoth Mountain is open with a 1-3 foot base of machine-groomed snow and 3 lifts with Top to Main Lodge Skiing and Riding. To get the full details on the snow conditions please check out the brand new snow report page. There are lots of details along with photos and video clips of the hill, use this link.

Storm and Travel Update: Get ready for a quick shot of winter tonight into Tuesday. If you’re traveling to the area expect to see snow on 395 above the Sherwin Grade late tonight into early Tuesday. The snow changes to rain around sunrise so expect a wet slippery mess on the roads.

As that system moves in tonight into early Tuesday snowfall amounts now look to be around 5-10 inches of base snow at Main Lodge. Up Top, there could be 10-18 inches of new heavy base snow. Lower elevations along 395 might see an inch or 2 and then some light rain Tuesday PM.

Ski ya later, Snowman out… There will be a full weather update posted by 11 am this morning in the weather center.
