Mammoth Mountains Best Weather and Snow Report
Mammoth Mountain’s Best Weather here http://mammothmountainweatherguy.com and Mammoth Mountains Best Snow Report Here.
Hello from Mammoth Mountain. Snowman here with you on a great Tuesday.
Mammoth Mountain has a 2-5 foot base with 6-10 inches of soft powder and packed powder on Top.
Conditions are perfect right now and should be great for the Presidents Day weekend coming up.
On Monday we hit the hill at 8:30 am and found about 4-5 inches of fresh snow over at the chair 15 parking lot. Snow was still falling at that time. Once on the hill we found a solid 6-12 inches of snow as we toured from 15 to main and back again over a 3 hour period.
The best stuff on Monday was at chairs 3, 5, 22 and 25. Those lifts served up the goods as the top stayed closed on Monday, 14 and Hemlocks was also closed.
Coverage was not bad but I would avoid charging in this stuff. To many rocks lurking just under the surface. The new snow was light, but had some graupel mixed in so it had some constancy to it. That will help it to hold up for great skiing and riding for the next couple weeks;

Snowman’s’ Unofficial Locals Mammoth Mountain Snow Report
Weather Today is going to be cloudy and cold with snow showers. Possible clearing during the day would leads to the whole mountain opening up and a fresh powder fest up top and over in the chair 14 area.
A new snow showery winter system is setting up for Wednesday. Little accumulation today, but a chance for 3-6 inches on Wednesday. Full MM Weather Discussion and a Powder Forecast can be found here.
Wind Cast Winds have gusted up to 60 out of the South at times this am over the top of Mammoth Mountain. More of the same today and them SW winds tonight.
Base a this time we have a 2-5 foot base of packed powder and powder snow from 7900 up to 11,000 feet. This is not enough snow to cover all the rocks, trees and stumps that are normally buried by mid season. **Believe it or not we have enough base to have a great vacation in Mammoth at this time. Snowman would make the 6 hour drive weekly for these conditions for sure.
Lifts all lifts expect chair 20 are open wind and weather permitting.
Grooming = 679 acres of groomed bliss out there today.
