Mammoth Mountain Snow Report from the Snowman

2-24-22 – Good morning, there turned out to be some fantastic turns out on the hill yesterday.

Lots of fresh stuff up top, the wind had done a great job loading the snow up. That along with the snow having some time to compact before the crowds hit made for a lot of turns with no bottoming out.

The snow out in the chair 9 area was also skiing and riding well with just enough new snow to get some decent fresh turns in off the groomed runs. See the image from Gold Hill below…

Yes, it was a low light day with low clouds hanging over the top and mid-mountain. As long as you had the right lens you could see enough to harvest some of the fresh snow.

Out on the groomers, there was a softer and nicely refreshed packed powder surface for your enjoyment. Sure put a smile on my face and it will put one on yours too.

Was too cold to get images on Wednesday, my older camera just dies almost instantly when it’s 4 in the parking lot.

Will be back out on Friday under the sun and will get a full new photo gallery and several runs on video. Check back later Friday for the new photos and Saturday for video footage from the hill.
