Mammoth Mountain Video Snow Report - 3-24-2024

3-24-2024 – As you can see in the video below, snow conditions were fun, with groomed-out packed powder on the groomer runs from Little Eagle to the backside. It felt like you were skiing in mid January packed powder, which was perfect for the first days of spring skiing and riding.

The snow was packed into a perfect wind-buff surface on the mid and upper mountain runs, with soft sugar snow on top in many sections. The snow on Scotties and in the Wipe and Drop Outs was the mid-winter wind buff Mammoth is famous for. Great turns, and with the wind blowing, the softer sugary sections were epic.

For those viewing this video in the future, the snowpack in this video is 100-150 inches from Main Lodge to the top of Mammoth Mountain. That is about 92% of the average for March 24th.

Go Pro Settings: Go Pro 12, Action Clips were shot in 5.3 K on Super View, Pan Shots in Liner with Zoom, Auto Shutter, ISO -.5, White Balance 5500, Sharpness Medium, and Color Natural. I also used the standard Go Pro Lens mounted to my chest with the media mod also used. Editing was done in Final Cut Pro using an adjustment layer and clip editing.
