Mammoth Mountain Weather Forecast & Discussion
December 21st, 2023 @ 11 AM – A cut-off low is south of Mammoth Mountain with the mountain getting some wrap-around snow showers at times.
This cycle of snow is pretty much done for now with with 8-10 inches of new snow around Main Lodge and 14-18+ inches up top over the last 3 days. The water content in that snow is high so I am expecting that the snow won’t be packing down much at all.
Snow Showers will continue at times today and into the evening hours with just a slight chance of snow early on Friday. Christmas weekend looks clear with the next chance for snowfall in the latter half of next week.
If you’re going to be on the hill today temperatures will be in the low 30s at Main Lodge by mid-day with mid to upper 30s Friday into the weekend. By Christmas Day temperatures mid-day should be around 40 at the 9000-foot level.
Morning lows look to be in the low to mid-20s over the next 5 days. Winds will be backing down and turning E to NE at 5-25 MPH through Friday with light winds over the weekend and into next Monday.
