3-18-2024 @ 9:30 AM – If you’re heading out on Mammoth Mountain today, expect the pesky NE flow to still be around. Mid- and upper-mountain NE winds will be in the 10-15 MPH range with gusts from 20-30 MPH.

Mid-day temperatures will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s around Main Lodge, with mid-40s down on the runs around Canyon and Eagle Lodges.

West winds are expected to return by Tuesday, and sunny skies are now in the forecast. Mid-day temperatures will be in the mid-40s around Main Lodge, with upper 40s down on the runs around Canyon and Eagle Lodges.

On Wednesday, clear skies are expected again with light west-to-southwest winds. Mid-day temperatures will be in the mid-40s around Main Lodge, with upper 40s down on the runs around Canyon and Eagle Lodges.

For those of you wanting more winter and possibly some powder snow, snowfall is in the forecast by the weekend. There could be several inches of snow for a low-end powder event. By day 7 next Monday, it looks like there could be a foot of new snow over the upper mountain powder fields.

Author – Steve Taylor – The Mammoth Snowman Over the last 30+ years, Snowman has spent countless hours studying and learning about Mammoth Mountain Weather and Snow Conditions first hand. He has been skiing around the hill with marked ski poles since March of 1991 so he can measure the fresh snowfall amounts out on the hill.

Snowman started blogging this information back in 1990 on the old Mammoth BBS system, then the RSN Forums and then on to MammothSnowman.com in 2004 with Video & Photo Blog reports. (No YouTube back then). Facebook got added to the fold back in 2008 and then the Facebook Group in 2016.

Reports, videos, and photos from the website have been featured on both local TV Stations here in Mammoth and Bishop, along with KTLA, AP, Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC News.
